Our Community

Fletcher's Grove

This beautiful community offers a family friendly setting that is within 15 minutes of the Antietam Battlefield with easy access to interstates 70 and 81 as well as access to Hagerstown, and Frederick. With wonderful mountains to the west and the eastern shore just a short drive away, Boonsboro is a great community to live in.

With the prevalence of social media, the community uses a Facebook group for open forum and quick communications. However, there remains a need for community content that is integral in upholding the mission of the HOA. This site provides members of the community useful links and details in regard to the expectations of each community member and the board of directors.

Fletcher’s Grove is comprised of 85 Townhomes and 93 Single Family homes currently completed since construction started in 2005. There are future plans of adding approximately 100 more Single-Family homes in three different phases with our completed community expected to cover over 36 acres. Shopping centers off of Tiger Way and Chase Six Boulevard have brought additional business to Boonsboro and they are in our backyard.

Chase Six Boulevard is the backbone of the community with all of our roads branching off from it. When completed, our community will have an eastern and western entrance. The eastern entrance will become community’s main entrance with a large sign and will be at the intersection of Chase Six at Maple Ave (Rt. 66). The current western entrance from Old National Pike (Alt. 40) will still be the alternate entrance to the community.

Town of Boonsboro History

Picture of the Washington Monument in Boonsboro, MDFounding: Boonsboro was founded by George Boone, a cousin of Daniel Boone, and the town has been known by various names since it was first founded until 1831. While the names may have changed over the years since it was settled in 1792, it was officially incorporated as Boonesborough in 1831. The spelling though was not settled on as local newspapers and villagers preferred the name Boonsboro according to local lore. The former name was used on some documents as late as 1903.

National Pike: Boonsboro lies on what used to be the National Road. Today it is known as either the Old National Pike or Alt-U.S. 40. In Boonsboro town limits, it is referred to as Main Street. The route was originally established as a road improvement project in 1758 to shorten travel between Fredericktown and Fort Frederick during the Seven Years' War as noted in Frederick County Court records. The route began from the existing (old) road at today's Marker Eoad, passed through Turner's Gap, Boonsboro and turned west along today's MD. Rt. 68 to Williamsport. The route from Boonsboro to Funkstown was later adopted as part of the National Turnpike route that eventually ran through Hagerstown towards Western Maryland.

Civil War: Boonsboro was a key town during the American Civil War with two battles were fought not far from its present borders. The Battle of South Mountain and the Battle of Antietam were both fought within a 10 minute drive of the town square. After the Battle of Antietam in September 1862, the town was used to keep wounded soldiers as they were treated.
